NPS FAMILIES BEWARE: A Compromised Natick School Committee Abandons its Code of Ethics

Based on public records, the Natick School Committee is creating division in the community and failing to fulfill its Code of Ethics duties by working against families who believe in the right of parents to direct the care, education, and upbringing of their children. This email to state legislators from Natick School Committee Chair Shai Fuxman is companion evidence to the recorded portion of the April 3, 2024 Natick Select Board and Natick School Committee meeting that target "parents’ rights" families and those they've labelled "far right."

Instead of following its Code of Ethics and working on behalf of all children in the school system and the entire community at all times without "playing politics," the Natick School Committee has enlisted the State to actively work against diverse "parents' rights" families whose children attend Natick Public Schools and whose tax dollars help fund them.

You should also know that in Fall 2023, a Natick School Committee member told us “you're in the political minority” during a phone conversation about the district’s concerning gender curriculum. So much for working on behalf of all students regardless of their background!

Forced indoctrination in gender ideology impacts 100% of the student population, not just children who identify as transgender or gender non-conforming. Gender support plans that hide information from parents about their children also impact all families. As public polling shows, these aren't "far right" issues and transcend political, racial, and economic differences.

If the Natick School Committee was serious about creating healthy policies that support all students, it could easily consider an opt-out accommodation to gender curriculum like the one we proposed more than a year ago. It could also change its unsafe gender identity policy to require parental consent. Instead, with the help of the State, it appears like Natick School Committee members hope to disempower parents who they see as a threat to their biased gender policies and whose distress they continue to devalue.

For the record, Parental Rights Natick has never requested information on transgender students. We’ve requested information on the district’s harmful gender support plan that hides information from parents as well as its biased, controversial gender identity curriculum that indoctrinates children in the belief that sex is "assigned at birth,” with no formal accommodation for parents to exempt their children from these radical lessons.

There is also no evidence that the concerns of diverse "parents' rights" families in Natick or throughout Massachusetts and the country are responsible for the bulling of any students, transgender or otherwise. Perhaps saturating elementary and middle school curriculum and culture with unscientific “sex assigned at birth” and “born in the wrong body” ideas presented as fact is also creating division and increasing students’ rejection of an endless variety of gender/sexual identities and expressions?!!

The Natick School Committee has an obligation to support all students and represent the entire community at all timeseven those they consider "far right." And behind every "parents' rights" group in Natick and beyond are real parents with real children!

Despite the Natick School Committee's unethical lack of support for diverse "parents' rights" families whose children attend Natick Public Schools and whose tax dollars help fund them, Parental Rights Natick will continue to fight for healthy policies, unbiased education, and a safe learning environment for all students.

Email the Natick School Committee at schoolcommittee@natickps.org to voice your concerns about indoctrinating curriculum, biased education, unhealthy gender policies, and politically motivated roadblocks toward parents!

Will you also forward this to other concerned Natick parents to help them stay informed and sign up to receive our weekly emails
